The good news is, there is hope. It can be done. With some basic information on the crane weight, gross load weight and ground bearing pressure, then the size of outrigger cribbing for adequate support can be calculated. Crane Tech teaches a 4 step process:

The evaluation will determine if the part can be repaired sufficiently to maintain its original structural integrity, while keeping the original operating parameters of the machine.

If inaccurate data is input, the load and outrigger pressure calculations will not be accurate. Design of ground support sufficient to withstand calculated loads is within the sole responsibility of the user of this software and/or the Site Supervisor (see ASME B30.5-2007 5-3.1.3.2.1(e)(3)).

It is typically used to support lattice boom sections during assembly/disassembly and under outrigger and stabilizer floats. Boatswain's chair means a single-point adjustable suspension scaffold nsisting of a seat or sling (which may be incorporated into a full body harness) designed to support one employee in a sitting position.
